![]() When you install a print driver on your machine you need to reconfigure your printing objects to use it, it wont happen automatically. What I like to do is the following (win7): 1. Open Devices and Printers 2. Highlight and right click the printing object you wish to update 3. Select Printer Properties 4. Click the Advanced Tab 5. Select the appropriate driver from the Driver Drop Down tab - If the driver is not listed then it has not been fully installed yet 6. Support in windows 7 for laserjet 6l. I have tried to download from HP but their site states that the. Search for the printer driver already. Click apply and wait for the driver to install and update your printing object 7. Test printing to confirm In scenarios where the print driver you want is not available from the drop down list you must click the New Driver button and complete the wizard. This process will tell the OS where the driver files are found so that it can make the necessary connections behind the scenes. Windows preloads several print drivers which are either auto downloaded from updates or preinstalled with the OS. Everything else can be installed by hand. I dont have a Win10 machine available so I cannot tell you the updated steps for this process. However I assume the general idea is the same as it always has. Install the driver, apply the driver to a printing object and test to see if it works.
